Mass Email
Mass Email lets you send an email campaign to groups of your customers in a few clicks — right away or on a schedule. Combined with Target Groups, it makes sure your message reaches exactly the right audience, and every email that goes out is tracked per recipient.
It works just like Mass SMS, but over email: there's no per-message cost, and you can send a fully designed HTML message.
What Is Mass Email?
Mass Email broadcasts one message to many customers at once. Instead of writing to your entire customer base, you can focus on a specific segment.
This feature is ideal for:
- Promotions and discounts
- Announcements (e.g., new plans or locations)
- Newsletters
- Event reminders
- Feedback requests
Requirements
- A mail server connected to Powerlynx, with system email switched on — see Email. Without it, the campaign builder shows a warning and sending is blocked.
- Email addresses: only customers with an email address on their profile receive a campaign.
- Opt-in compliance: make sure you have your customers' consent to receive marketing email, in line with your local regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM). Powerlynx does not add an unsubscribe link to campaign emails for you, so include your own opt-out instructions in the message.
How It Works
Create a Target Group using this guide — or skip it to email all your customers.
Navigate to the
Marketing/Emailmenu on the dashboard and click theCreate emailbutton.
The campaign builder has four steps.
1. Settings
Give the campaign a title and pick the target groups to send to. Leave target groups empty to send to all customers.
2. Message
Enter the Subject and write the body in the HTML editor. Use the placeholder picker to insert customer details, such as {{ .customer.name }}, so every recipient gets a personal greeting. Line breaks you type are kept in the email.
Click Preview to see the message with the placeholders filled in for a sample customer — what you see is what your customers receive.
3. Schedule
Choose Send now, or schedule the campaign for a later date and time.
4. Preview the list of recipients
Review who will receive the email — only customers with an email address are listed. Deselect anyone you want to leave out, then click Send (or Schedule).
INFO
The recipient list is worked out again at the moment a scheduled campaign is sent, so customers who joined a target group after you scheduled it are included too.
Following up on a campaign
You can view your campaigns under the Marketing/Email menu, with their status — Scheduled, Sending, Sent or Failed — and when they were scheduled or sent.
You can edit a campaign while its status is Scheduled. Once it has been sent, you can only view it.
To see what went out, open a sent campaign from the list. It lists every email with the recipient, the customer, the delivery status and the time. Click a row to see the exact email that was delivered. If a delivery failed, a short explanation is shown at the top — for example, a problem with your mail server's username or password — so you can tell why without digging through logs.
Resending a failed campaign
A campaign ends as Failed if any of its emails could not be delivered. Once you've fixed the cause — usually the mail server settings — use Resend email in the campaign list. It retries only the recipients who were skipped or failed; customers who already received the email are not emailed again.
TIP
Every email from a campaign also appears in the Email logs, together with the emails sent to individual customers.
